Is there an adjective, perhaps technical, that describes eyes that move
independantly of one another like a cameleon's? I've googled quite a
bit and still haven't found one.

Ke aloha no, Jason Quinn:
(Greetings)

Try www.encyclopedia.com and search on the word eye.

Best I could tell from a quick look was "Camera" type eyes.

Another website you might find helpful is www.anapsid.org and look
for page on Chameleons and the links to Chameleon specific websites.
HTH. Peace.

PS. Whatever you say, don't say "Cross-eyed"! :-)

I think by "camera"-type eyes the article meant "fish-lens" type eyes
because they list squid and spiders, for example, as having them when
squid and spiders' eyes do not move independantly of one another.

I looked at several websites about cameleons but couldn't find a word
for it. There might not be one.
