Post by OmManiPadmeOmeletCondolences on your cat.....
I've lost 5 over the past 3 years to old age and/or hyperthyroidism.
I had 3 cremated and put into one very nice ceramic cat urn.
<sigh>
I still have several older cats.
I don't follow that newsgroup anymore, so when I go to sign on to it,
I have to sort thru over 10,000 messages initially just to clear it
out.
I know a guy on the mushroom group got a LOT more responses to his
question when he used tinypic.
And not all news servers support binaries. ;-)
Cheers!
You are actually quite right...the tinyurl link is very handy, and a good
thing to use.
My condolences to you and Daniel as well. Chester was an unusual cat...I
had never really been a cat person so to speak before him. I am not sure if
I will ever get another one or not, maybe one day one will happen along.
It's so hard, having pets pass. I mean, in some cases, I have grown used to
animals passing away...you know, the neglect or abandon cases that you
happen upon and decide that you are going to step up and take responsibility
for them. I am used to caring for sickly animals that sometimes do not make
it...but having a companion for 12 years and then passing away is so
difficult. It makes me wonder how people are so cavalier about an animal's
life span. I have had parents ask me...how long will this live? If the
life span is too long, they make a fuss and don't want to bother with it.
Disposable pets in a disposable world seems to be what it's all about
nowadays. Well, no thank you...I will take my snakes with their 25 year
capability, my Bearded Dragon that is working on his 12th year, my parrots
that will be beside me squawking strong as I am on my death bed (Darwin will
probably still be belting out that damn Oscar Meyer Weiner song that I
thought was so funny to teach him). I quit keeping rats and ferrets for
pets just because of the shorter life spans.
Hmm, not sure what brought that rant on...just in the mood for it tonight I
reckon.
